The Dravoll Tide Mill
The Dravoll Tide Mill is one of the oldest surviving structures in Sevtalwick. It was designed by the engineer Ruadh Lorcordrav and completed in 1866. The structure stands 30 metres tall.
Ruadh Lorcordrav drew up the plans after a public subscription raised funds for the project. Construction took three seasons, using stone quarried a few miles inland. When it opened in 1866, local newspapers described it as the most ambitious public work the town had attempted.
The Dravoll Tide Mill was restored in the late twentieth century and remains a familiar landmark for residents and visitors.
